The latest Winefamily Sommeliers tasting results are in. See the Cabernet Sauvignons that rated the best!

The Singapore Sommelier's Association members blind tasted a selection of Cabernet Sauvignons from Winefamily and the results are in!

See what they thought you will love...

Highest rated for its value, the somms all believed that the 2008 Finca Antigua was far more costly than such a steal at only SG$27.50!

"Dark ruby red with a clear edge, oily legs. Cassis, wood, spices. Sweet taste with a long finish." -Daisuke

The South African, Groot Constantia, received a 5-star rating for quality! "Well put together... with much complexity."

"Medium ruby garnet. Dense with aromas of bell pepper (in a good way); toast and black fruit. The attack is fresh, fruit forward and composed. Well put-together and very drinkable." -Chek

Receiving the highest number of 4-star ratings for quality, the Fetzer was dubbed "light bodied with nice balance of freshness and tannin".

"Medium ruby with an orange hue. Pleasantly complex on the nose with spicy note underlying the blackcurrant fruit. Medium bodied on the palate with elevated alcohol and notes of black plum, cherries, and raspberries. Shows good balance and attractive fruit concentration." -Chek

"A pleasant, straightforward quaff," the Tribu was quite popular, consistently receiving over 3-star ratings.

"Soft, elegant, fresh fruit forward, coffee powder, clean, dark and red cherries, baked clove, tea bag, dry, soft tannin, medium bodied, tea dust." -Fazil

The "light and easy" 2013 Grand Chemin was also rated as an excellent "party wine" for the value price of SG$29.50!

"Dark purple with sweet aromas, poached fruit, caramel, and strawberry." -Iroslav

A notable mention goes to the San Patrignano Montepriolo Colli di Rimini for the "perfect spectrum of all the dark fruits."

"Blackberry, chocolate, rustic, mint with sweet spice, licorice, and earthiness." -Fazil

Domaine de Saissac IGP Pays d'Oc "offers a charming, fruit-forward experience" and was ranked by the somms as a great value at only SG$26 per bottle!

"Dark, ruby red. Pomegranate, cacao, meaty on the nose. Full-bodied red with smooth tannin, dry but with a hint of chocolate." -Daisuke

We hope this helps in selecting your next cabernet sauvignon. Happy tasting! Cheers!
